The highly anticipated anime series has just kicked off its new season last weekend. The story picks up where “My Hero Academia” Season 1 left off. “My Hero Academia” Season 2 has also been confirmed to get more episodes.
“My Hero Academia” Season 2 Has More Episodes
One of the most anticipated anime series to return this season is “My Hero Academia”, otherwise known as “Boku no Hero Academia”. The original manga series started its publication in November 2015 and finally gained an anime adaptation in April 2016. The first season of the said anime series ran for 13 episodes.
Later in 2016, it has been announced that “My Hero Academia” Season 2 is in the works. Aside from that, it has been revealed that it will have almost twice as many episodes as the first season had. With the premiere of the second season’s first episode, it has been finally confirmed that Season 2 will have 25 episodes, which is ten more episodes compared to the previous season.
“My Hero Academia” Returns; Izuku Burdened With His Power?
The last time fans have seen the anime series, Izuku Midoriya and his colleagues went against Tomura Shigaraki and the Villains Alliance. A special episode was also released prior to the release of the second season, retelling what took place in “My Hero Academia” Season 1. The first episode of “My Hero Academia” Season 2 continues the story from where things left off but they will be heading to a new arc that involves the up and coming Sports Festival.
In “My Hero Academia” Season 2 Episode 1, which is also referred to as the 14th episode, reveals the aftermath of the fight with Shigaraki. Everyone are resting and are trying to move on from the unfortunate event. However, things have to go on normally to uphold peace and order hence the annual Sports Festival has been confirmed to push through.
The said Sports Festival replaced the World Olympics and it became a rare venue for aspiring professional heroes to shine and be scouted by top notch hero agencies. While the others are driven to make an impression, All Might has encouraged Izuku to do his best in the Sports Festival because he has decided to pass on the responsibility of being the symbol of peace to him. With Izuku’s goal finally determined, All Might also unknowingly pressured and burdened Izuku into something he wasn’t prepared for at all especially when he has yet to master his newly-acquired quirk.
