After almost a year of waiting for another series to be released, "My Hero Academia" season 2 finally premiered on Saturday. Unfortunately, the slow pace of the anime's story earned season 2 episode 1 a raving rating. Fans might, however, become re-invigorated with "My Hero Academia" season 2 moving to the U.A. High School Sports Festival in episode 2.
The episode that was released on April 1 titled "That's the Idea, Ochako" picked up events from the first season where an investigation is being held on a previous attack of villains at the U.A. High School's training facility. The season 2 opener of "My Hero Academia" then partly served as a recap which left some fans disappointed with the progress of events. The show re-explored the anime as it re-introduced the characters having superhuman powers.
Although the premiere episode of "My Hero Academia" received several negative reviews, the installment was able to introduce its main plot at the end of the chapter. The announcement of the U.A. Sports Festival was dropped and everyone is excited to witness the sports battles in the anime's Olympic-equivalent event. The hero wannabes will now gear up to battle each other where Ochako Uraraka was seen from the past episode seemingly determined to prove her abilities so she can attract a good hero agency.
It is said that Ochako pulls her motivation from her desire to earn money to revive her parents' dying business. Elsewhere in the previous episode, All Might was seen writing a letter to his mentor to discuss his insecurities and Midoriya. Following this, there is a theory that All Might's mysterious mentor will play a big role in the upcoming episodes of "My Hero Academia." It is also believed that the anime will reveal how All Might got his transferrable power, All for One.
A promo of "My Hero Academia" season 2, episode 2 was already released and it teases an intense battle between Deku and Todoroki. Deku might be seen releasing the power of passed onto him by All Might to give him a chance to stand out from the rest of the sports fest contenders. There is also a guess that the episode will highlight the weakness of the protagonist that he still has to work on to become a superhero.
"My Hero Academia" currently airs episodes of its second season every Saturday. The rest of the 25 episodes of the anime can also be streamed online on Hulu.
