The upcoming game The Last of Us 2 is the sequel to the successful 2013 horror-survival title The Last of Us. Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that Shannon Woodward will be joining the upcoming game. Woodward is one of the actors from the popular TV series Westworld. Apparently, the Last of Us 2 has lots of connections to the TV show. It was said that Westworld writer, Halley Gross participated in writing the second game's plot.
According to GameSpot, Shannon Woodward, who plays the role of Elsie Hughes in Westworld, will be given a role in The Last of Us: Part II. She announced it on her official Twitter account with a picture of her alongside game director Neil Druckmann.
Shannon Woodward was also known for her roles on Raising Hope as Sabrina and Di Di Malloy on The Riches. Meanwhile, the details outside her participation in the game such as the character that she is playing, and her connections to the first game remain unclear as of now. However, it is expected to be revealed soon.
The Last of Us: Part II began its development in 2014, with both Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson returning to reprise their roles from the first game. Additionally, Gustavo Santaolalla also returns to compose and perform the score. The game's plot is both written by Neil Druckmann and Halley Gross. However, the game director from the first The Last of Us game will not be returning in the sequel to co-direct due to a hiatus.
The sequel was introduced during PSX 2016 via a trailer. The video footage shows the game's main playable character Ellie in a room playing the guitar while expressing her desire to find and kill every last one of them.
The Last of Us: Part II does not have an official release date as of the moment.
