Overwatch Uprising Event Is Now Live; New PvE Mode, Skins And More

After several weeks of leaks and rumors, the Overwatch brand new event is here and it is expected to bring lots of new in-game additions. The brand new Uprising Event is considered unique since it does not feature any real world or seasonal holidays. However, just like any Overwatch event, it brings lots of exciting stuff and time-exclusive game changes such as new game mode, map and more.

According to Game Rant, players participating in the event would be given a chance to play the new cooperative brawl. The new game mode allows players to take control of Tracer and her company to battle the huge wave of Omnic extremists. The battle will be set on the modified version of King's Row map and would be playable in two options.

The first one will feature Tracer, Reinheardt, Torbjörn and Mercy as the only playable characters, while the other one will allow players to choose any of the 24 characters present in the game. It is said that this new mode is a direct response from Blizzard after the Halloween's cooperative mode received a positive feedback from the community.

Meanwhile, these game events would not be complete without featuring new exclusive cosmetics dropping from the loot boxes. These new additions are considered as a motivation for players to continue participating in the event.

The Uprising Event offers over a hundred cosmetic items that players can earn from loot boxes. Although the main highlight of these new additions is the limited edition skins, there are several new items to look forward as well such as special emotes, sprays, highlight intros and more.

Overwatch is a popular first-person shooter from Blizzard Entertainment and is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Meanwhile, the Overwatch Uprising Event officially starts today and will be running until May 2.
