Android OS In iPhone? Possible, If TRUE Solution Is True

An iPhone with a dual personality? If the TRUE BYOD Solution can deliver what it promises, consumers might just see that, an iPhone that can also run on Android.

The TRUE BYOD Solution was created by Red Bend Software, a mobile software management company based in Massachusetts. The TRUE BYOD Solution was named as finalist at Enterprise Solution category of the annual Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards of the CTIA-The Wireless Association. The exhibits run from May 21 to 23 with the winners of the competition

The TRUE software is aimed at mobile device manufacturers, mobile service providers, and companies that want to create dual-persona gadgets that can be used by employees. TRUE can turn a smartphone into two virtual smartphones utilizing one hardware.

The solution will make use of a Type-1mobile hypervisor that can create a very strong separation between corporate data and personal applications. This is ideal for bring-your-own-device schemes since TRUE can keep the employee's persona life private while making sure everything about work is secure.

"Employees want one device that delivers a great user experience in both their personal and work lives. At the same time, CIOs are frustrated with first-generation BYOD approaches because they provide a false sense of security, infringe on employee privacy and are difficult to integrate with corporate applications. Leveraging our experience in managing billions of mobile devices, Red Bend took a totally different approach with TRUE, building a BYOD solution that delivers an excellent dual-persona user experience and meets the requirements for both enterprise security and employee privacy," explained Red Bend CEO Yoram Salinger through a press statement.

According to the company's website, TRUE promises to deliver a near native device performance with no perceptible changes when using enterprise or personal applications. The software ensures that both personas are always on for instant access and ease of use. So one can only imagine an iPhone with a switchable Android user interface to enjoy the advantages of both operating systems.

The TRUE BYOD Solution supports enterprise applications designed to run on Android so it can be seamlessly used by a company without requiring any special integration.

The TRUE software is just one of 300 entries at the CTIA 2103. The entries will be judged by industry experts, analysts, and reporters with innovation, implementation, functionality, technological importance, and wow factor in mind.

Red Bend has already partnered with Samsung for the enterprise trials of the Galaxy S3 smartphone with dual personas come the second quarter of 2013.
