Fans of Nokia's Asha series will soon have another budget-friendly handset to choose from. Come May 31, the Finnish smartphone maker's Nokia Asha 210 is set to hit the Indian shelves for just Rs. 3,999 (approximately $72).
According to an IBTimes report "Nokia's flagship WhatsApp phone, Asha 210, is reportedly making its India debut by the end of this month with an affordable price-tag."
The Asha 210 has been listed on popular online retailer Saholic for Rs. 3,999. Saholic also reveals that the dual-SIM phone will be available for purchase post May 31. The Rs. 3,999 price tag is inclusive of all taxes and Saholic is offering the black variant of the phone.
Saholic, however, is not the only Indian e-retailer to have listed the Asha 210. Infibeam also has the WhatsApp-enabled handset listed on its website, but as "coming soon." Infibeam, however, has three color options for the Asha 210 to choose from –– yellow, black and blue.
Announced in April, the Nokia Asha 210 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 169 pixels per inch (ppi). The handset weighs 99.5g and is 11.8mm thick.
The Asha 210, however, does not come with a touchscreen but has a QWERTY keypad. The highlight of the phone is undoubtedly the dedicated WhatsApp key.
The device runs on the Series 40 OS and also features a 2-megapaixel primary camera with 4x digital zoom. The phone also has a separate camera button which can even be operated when the handset's display is switched off. Yet another striking feature of this affordable handset is that it packs in built-in voice guides that direct a user to come within the camera's frame when taking self portraits.
