OnePlus 5 vs HTC U 11: Battle Of Upcoming Flagships

A recent report confirmed that the successor of OnePlus 3 is indeed going to be called OnePlus 5 instead of OnePlus 4. This is because according to the Chinese beliefs, number 4 is an unfortunate number. Today, HTC already verified that the official name of the company's latest flagship device is HTC U 11.

Since OnePlus 5 and HTC U 11 will be two of the most anticipated flagships this year, more and more people are demanding about their details, as well as their release dates. Especially that Samsung Galaxy S8 is already in the market, smartphone enthusiasts are eager to know more about the two upcoming phones. So, here is a quick rundown for both OnePlus 5 and HTC U 11.

OnePlus Upcoming Flagship: OnePlus 5

OnePlus 5 is arriving as early as the second quarter of 2017, and that could be in June. In fact, the month of June really fits into the company's pattern of the timeline and into the rumored Q2 release of the smartphone. Aside from that, it also makes sense because OnePlus 3 was released in June last year, while the model directly leading it was launched in July.

According to GSMArena, the specs and features of OnePlus 5 will bring down both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple iPhone 8. OnePlus upcoming flagship is greatly believed to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which is the latest chip, with as much as 8GB of RAM. It will have a 5.5-inch 2K display and a 23-MP rear dual-camera with optical zoom and Optical Image Stabilization.

HTC Upcoming Flagship: HTC U 11

HTC released a 5-second footage of its next flagship device, as reported by Blasting News. In the teaser, the company boasted the squeezable feature that, so far, only their device has. It will also run Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, just like the OnePlus 5. It was also speculated for the flagship device to have an Android Nougat 7.1 for its operating system.

HTC U 11 will have five varying colors, these are black, blue, red white and silver. However, the availability of the color options will depend on the region of shipment. In conclusion, US buyers are limited only to two to three color options. Moreover, HTC U 11 is anticipated to sport a 12-MP rear and 16-MP front facing cameras.
