A couple of iPhone 8 leaks surfaced very recently and if they prove true then there is nothing much to worry about Apple's flagship smartphone's design anymore. Plus, the leaks show some new and improved features that will surely keep fans on the edge of their seats.
The first of the two leaks come from Weibo. Someone posted the supposed schematics of the iPhone 8 on the Chinese social media platform. The said schematic is similar to previously leaked ones and shows the dual camera will indeed have a vertical orientation. More importantly, the rear Touch ID is also not visible in the leaked internal design.
It also looks like the iPhone 8 will support wireless charging as evident with the huge green patch in the schematic which is supposedly the charging coil. Under the patch is the wireless charging module. The diagram also indicates that the iPhone 8 will finally ditch the hated antenna lines.
The other leak, posted on Twitter by KK Sneak Leaks, concerns a photo of a supposed case for the iPhone 8. The clear case reveals one major feature of the eagerly anticipated iPhone. A cutout is visible on the upper left corner of the case and it looks like it's shaped according to the previously rumored vertical dual-camera system. A cutout for the power button is also visible and it looks bigger than normal. This may mean the Touch ID fingerprint sensor will be embedded in the home button. This, plus the lack of a cutout in the middle of the case, indicates that Apple is ditching the rumored rear Touch ID sensor. This is good news for those who did not appreciate the design when it first leaked.
Another thing that can be speculated on via the leaked clear case is that the iPhone 8 will come with a 5.8-inch OLED display. The case looks almost as big as the iPhone 7. With that in mind, it is likely that the iPhone 8 will have even fewer bezels than the Galaxy S8 which already has an 83 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The see-through case can easily be surmised as a real object but it doesn't necessarily prove that it's an actual case for the iPhone 8. There is always the possibility that someone simply created one based on the many rumors circling the 10th anniversary iPhone. As such, it is recommended that fans and tech enthusiasts take this bit of news with a grain of salt.
