HTC One phablet with 5+ inch display and HTC One mini to launch soon? (Rumor)

HTC has had a rough couple of years; it went from being one of the biggest smartphone makers to taking a backseat to Apple and Samsung. Luckily for HTC, its new flagship smartphone, the HTC One has been a huge hit and is the beginning of HTC's comeback story. HTC is reportedly getting ready to launch an HTC One with a 5+inch display and an HTC One mini.

HTC knows that the HTC One saved the company, it's considered by many to be one of the best smartphones ever made. That says a lot when that title is generally reserved for Apple's iPhone. HTC did take inspiration from the iPhone as a way to differentiate itself from the cheap plastic Android smartphones that are oversaturating the smartphone market currently.

HTC decided to really focus on design by giving the HTC One an anodized aluminum unibody case, and it carved the back of the smartphone to make it perfectly rest in your palm while holding. It's the attention to details like these that other smartphone makers should also focus on. When I spent some time with the HTC One, I was extremely impressed with its design and features and it was clear that this smartphone was going to be very popular.

HTC is using the "if it's not broke don't fix it" attitude when it comes to two upcoming smartphones the company is rumored to be getting ready to launch. According to Pocket-lint, HTC will launch an HTC One 5+inch phablet and a 4.3-inch HTC One mini.

According to sources, the larger HTC One will feature a 5+ inch, an exact size was not given except that it will be above 5-inches but below 6-inches. The reported specs of the smartphone will be identical to the current HTC One and it will be wrapped in the same anodized aluminum unibody enclosure as its smaller sibling. This smartphone could possibly be the HTC DLXPLUS we reported on a few weeks ago, which is expected to launch on Verizon.

The HTC One mini will reportedly have a 4.3-inch display, front facing stereo speakers and an UltraPixel camera. This smartphone sounds like the HTC M4 we recently reported on.

There was no date given of when to expect these smartphones except "soon." Take these rumors with a grain of salt, but they do line up with previous leaks.
