"Steven Universe" just wrapped up its fourth season, but fans will not have to wait for too long as the fifth installment of the hit Cartoon Network show will kick off before the month ends. A preview of the first episode of Season 5 was already teased online, and it shows Steven making a visit to Homeworld. Spoilers claim that half of the season will take place on the said planet where a battle between the Gems and the Diamonds is expected to go down.
"Steven Universe" Season 4 left off with a cliffhanger as Steven and Lars were taken outside the planet Earth by Aquamarine and Topaz. The new season is then expected to pick up from the two's abduction. A one-hour special consisting of the first four episodes of "Steven Universe" Season 5 will go down on May 29 and predictions are that the whole release will be taken in Homeworld.
The first of the four-part special will see Steven and Lars struggling to be freed from getting stuck inside Topaz as seen from a preview of "Stuck with You." A recently released promo even featured Steven and Lars finding their way out of the aircraft but Aquamarine, who controls water like Lapis, might cease them from succeeding. It then leads fans to the second part titled "The Trial" which is predicted to see Steven finally stepping foot on Homeworld.
Spoilers persistently claim that Steven will face the consequences of her mother Rose's betrayal against her race. It can be recalled that Rose Quartz chose to protect Earth from a destruction which also meant going against Homeworld. She has then fought a war and Steven might be the one to answer to her debts now that she is gone.
The final part of the "Steven Universe" Season 5's one-hour special on Memorial Day is predicted to see the gems coming up with a rescue mission. Since the episode's title is taken after Lars, it is reportedly possible to see the young boy playing a significant role in their escape. Fans are however questioning how the gems could fly from Earth to Homeworld without a spaceship. Some others suggest that they will use a warp zone to take them instantly to where Steven is.
A big war between the Gems and the Diamonds is then expected to go down. These thrilling events are said to match with creator Rebecca Sugar's previous statement that something big will happen in Season 5. Steven's growing into maturity in the new season is supposed to signify the end of "Steven Universe." The longstanding rumor has never been confirmed by both Sugar and the Cartoon Network, but the talks are rife that fans might have to say goodbye to the series as Steven will already be seen leaving his childhood.
