Tesla Model 3 Alternatives: 2018 Nissan Leaf, 2017 Chevy Bolt And 2017 Toyota Prius Prime

The Tesla Model 3 is one of the most awaited cars this year. However, there have been speculations that Tesla will not be able to produce enough of the electric car to cater to all the pre-orders. With that in mind, those planning on getting one may do some rethinking. Here are three equally capable alternatives to the Tesla Model 3 that one may consider.

2018 Nissan Leaf

The latest Nissan Leaf can run for 106 mpg at one full charge which takes around six hours in a 240-volt outlet. It also costs 3.5 cents per mile. The Nissan Leaf is generally a good ride. The interior including the rear set is roomy. There is little room in the cargo area, however.

The issue with the 2018 Nissan Leaf is its fast depreciation. If you are looking to buy one of these, it may be better to get a second-hand one which will fetch a much lower price than what it originally cost.

2017 Chevrolet Bolt

The 2017 Chevy Bolt is not to be confused with the 2017 Chevrolet Volt despite both being electric cars. The 2017 Bolt, as described by AutoTrader, comes with a futuristic-looking cabin. It has an upright design highlighted by a 10.2-inch touchscreen. The electronic shifter is similar to what the Buick LaCrosse. The seats have a gap in between them providing more room while the cargo area is not that wide but is more vertical.

2017 Toyota Prius Prime

This plug-in hybrid sports a four-cylinder gas engine aside, of course, from an electric motor. The 2017 Toyota Prius Prime has double the battery capacity of the Prius. However, Toyota had to sacrifice some cargo are space to accommodate the bigger battery. The Prius Prime comes with an infotainment touch screen measuring 11.6 inches.

Spy shots of the Tesla Model 3 or more particularly its prototypes have been making the rounds online for quite some time now. Elon Musk signified before that the cars will be available this year for those who pre-ordered early.
