The 2017 Shelby American F-150 Super Snake was unveiled recently at the Carroll Shelby International headquarters in California. The muscle truck is the result of Shelby's partnership with Ford and Borla.
Shelby American CEO Joe Conway who's also co-CEO of Carroll Shelby International said that the "tremendous demand" for its off-road Shelby F150 trucks along with a clamor for a new Shelby muscle truck led the company to create the F-150 Super Snake. Shelby and Toyota previously worked together on other projects including the upcoming 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
Car And Driver reported that Shelby focused on adding more power to the Super Snake. The company also wanted its new truck to provide better handling experience while having a style and sound system that will impress everyone.
Digital Trends pointed out that Shelby is known for its Mustangs and Cobras but the Super Snake will definitely win the company more fans. The 2017 Shelby F-150 uses a familiar bright blue and white color scheme.
The 2017 Shelby F-150 Super Snake comes with a new aggressive-looking hood and bumpers. The Super Snake logo can be found in numerous places on the truck. The one on the grille gives the Shelby truck a fiercer look and indicates its horsepower just in case you don't know it yet.
The F-150 Super Snake packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine under its hood. It is capable of pumping out 750 horsepower. Compared to the Ford Raptor, the Super Snake is a lot more powerful as the Raptor only comes with a V6 engine that pumps out 450 horsepower.
Only 150 lucky people will get to own the might Super Snake as Shelby is scheduled to produce only that much of the prized F-150 truck. The 2017 Shelby F-150 Super Snake is available for a price tag of below $96,680. Those who get their hands on the truck can opt for all the 750hp to go to the rear wheels or all four.
When the Super Snake goes, it does so with a pleasing sound thanks to one of Borla's dual stainless steel-tipped exhausts. The ride is also as smooth as possible due to its improved suspension and better handling.
