The New Surface Pen Review: Better Specs For Best Performance

At a hardware event in Shanghai, China last week, Microsoft announced the fifth-generation 2-in-1 PC known as the Surface Pro. This new hybrid device is highly anticipated because it has been more than 16 months since the American multinational company launched a new Surface product. Aside from that, Microsoft also launched an upgraded generation of the Surface Pen.

The New Surface Pen

According to The Verge, the new Microsoft Surface Pen is literally identical to the previous stylus such as Surface Pro 2, 3, as well as 4. The pen device comes from the same supplier and is claimed to have better specs to deliver the best performance. In fact, the sensitivity of Microsoft's Surface Pen has been raised to 4,096 pressure levels.

Aside from the sensor pressure, Microsoft also added tilt functionality to the new Surface Pen. The Redmond-based company supplemented a deeper and lower system tilt of up to 165 degrees, which will help users to have an easier use of the Microsoft Ink. Aside from hat, compared to the existing version, the new Surface Pen has only 21 milliseconds of latency.

According to Forbes, in order to enhance the colors on the PixelSense display of the Microsoft Surface Pro, the company has now a PixelSense Accelerator. The refreshed Microsoft Surface Pen is available in different colors such as Black, Platinum, Burgundy and Cobalt Blue. However, the Surface Pen does not come covered with the Surface Pro price and it is sold separately for $99.

More New Microsoft Products

Still a news from the same event, Microsoft also announced new Type Covers for the Surface Laptop. The covers are built with Alcantara just like the previous and existing products. Microsoft also released Flow for OneDrive, which is a medium that automates business workflows. Microsoft also released Windows 10 China Government Edition and much more.
