2K Games Inc. has just announced that it will feature Kyrie Irving on the cover of the latest NBA 2K18. This came right after its rival NBA Live 18, came out with the latest screenshots and teaser trailer of its own NBA video game. The Cleveland Cavaliers' star point-guard will be the latest basketball icon that will be featured on the cover of 2K's professional basketball video game.
It Will Be Released On September
2K Sports, a division of 2K Games, also announced that NBA 2K18 will be released on Sept. 19. So, the folks at the studio must be hard at work to get the game fully operational prior to the game launch. Irving got the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 2012. He is also a four-year NBA All-Star member
His team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, is currently defending their NBA title. Irving, along with teammates LeBron James, Kevin Love, and others are trying to make a back-to-back championship. However, they have just lost two games in a row against the Stephen Curry/ Kevin Durant - led Washington Warriors. Cleveland fans expect them to bounce back when they play the third game on their courtyard.
Irving Was Chosen Because Of His Well-Studded Resume
Apparently, Irving was chosen to be the cover of the latest NBA 2K18 because of his well- studded professional basketball resume. He averaged 27.1 points per game in the last 2016 NBA Championship. His team won that championship after being down three to one. No other NBA team in past and current history has ever accomplished that feat.
Irving, himself, admitted that he's an avid player of the video game. Being chosen as the cover of NBA 2K18 is a great honor, he added. He also said that it is surreal to see his face on the cover of the video game and expressed his wish that he could also dominate the virtual court as he did the real basketball court. 2K Sports also induced gamers to pre-order the standard edition of NBA 2K18 by granting them early access starting on Sept. 15. The game is playable on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PS3, and PS4.
