E3 2017's Most Anticipated Games

E3 2017 officially starts this weekend as EA and Microsoft hold their press conferences on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The game expo will run until June 15 and will be open to the public. Gamer expects developers and game companies to put their best foot forward as they showcase their latest games and consoles. Some AAA titles showcased at last year's E3 will show up bigger and better with maybe a demo or two for attendees. Here are some of the games that have created a buzz among the games industry.

Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima's latest project has kept gamers wondering exactly how it would play like. Game Rant notes that although Kojima did not directly confirm Death Stranding's appearance at E3 2017, its close ties to Sony will somehow have it on display with a new trailer or more. Fans are hoping to learn more details about this star-studded title as the previous trailers only left them with more questions than answers. Rumors have claimed the Emma Stone has been cast for a role in the game together with Mad Mikkelsen and Guillermo del Toro.

Assassin's Creed: Origins

Ubisoft has not officially confirmed the final title, but several leaks including some merchandise appear to have the name Assassin's Creed: Origins. PC Gamer suspects that the new installment in the long-running franchise might feature a bigger game world than its predecessors. Moreover, the new title might have influences of The Witcher 3 with its gameplay. The developer has already cited a possible series-fatigue from most of their fans, so analysts hope that the developer introduces something new this time around. E3 2017 could be the venue for them to share a trailer or gameplay video for the public.

God of War

Another AAA Sony-exclusive game that caught a lot of fans by surprise during its first reveal. Kratos has left most of the Greek mythology behind and is now accompanied by his son Atreus. Based on the setting flaunted by the gameplay reveal last year, it is now centered on Norse mythology. Gamers can expect God of War to be one of the highlights paraded by Sony during their E3 2017 press conference next week.

Super Mario Odyssey

Following the same routine every year, Nintendo did not schedule a separate E3 2017 press conference. The company has promised a lot of surprises for its fans during the game expo and will most likely deliver. The Nintendo Switch launched oddly without a Super Mario game. However, Super Mario Odyssey could be one of their highlights during the show.

The Last of Us 2

Lastly, another Sony-exclusive sequel will make its second appearance this E3 2017. According to reports, The Last of Us 2 will have Ellie as the main protagonist after rumors claim that Joel is already dead. Fans are hoping for more information and gameplay footage from Naughty Dog that might showcase some of its new mechanics or features.
