Pokemon GO: Niantic Reveals Details Of First Anniversary Event Celebrations Starting Next Month

The first anniversary Pokemon GO is fast approaching and Niantic has recently announced the details on how it will celebrate the event. With more than 750 million downloads of the mobile app worldwide, Niantic is aiming to make this event a splash. Niantic can't be blamed for this because when the game debuted in July 2016, it instantly hooked millions of gamers around the world.

There Will Be In-Person And In-Game Events

Apparently, Niantic is planning several in-person and in-game events in Pokemon GO's first year anniversary. The game developer has scheduled the Solstice Event, the first big event will take place in the game itself. This event is scheduled on June 13. It will include discounted Lucky Eggs, XP bonuses, and Fire-type and Ice-type Pokemon.

Niantic Will Introduce A New Collaborative Gameplay

Niantic's game development teams also announced that it will introduce a new collaborative gameplay in Pokemon GO. This is a new game update that will be added to the game. Apparently, when this new feature is added to the game, in-game Gyms will have to be temporarily suspended.

In a related development, Niantic will hold the first Pokemon GO Fest Chicago at Grant Park, Illinois on July 22. This is the game's first in-person event in July. Tickets for this event will be available starting on June 19. Details about the prices and event schedules have not yet been furnished by the developer.

European And Japanese Gamers Will Have Their Events Too

Meanwhile, European gamers will also be provided with game-related events in Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers starting from June up to September of this year. Japanese die-hard Pokemon GO gamers will also have their own event called "Pikachu Outbreak." This will be held in Yokohama in August. No details have been provided by Niantic yet but fans can expect announcements in this regard as the event approaches.
