Video Game Everything Qualifies For An Oscar – First Time In Gaming History

A video game that is being considered for an Oscar is really something that will be talked about. This is the first time in history that a video game qualifies for an Academy Award. The concerned video is titled Everything and it seems that with the Oscars behind its back, everything is going for it now.

This Is A Unique And Relaxing Game

Some gamers have reported that Everything is a relaxing game. It is currently playable on PS4 and PC. This game allows players to control everything in the world, very fitting for its title. Apparently, it has already won a jury award at the recent 2017 Vienna Shorts Festival, making it a shoo-in for the Oscars.

This Is A First In The History Of Video Games

As such, this will be the first time a video game will be considered for an Academy Award. If it wins an Oscar, that will be a great accolade to its creator, David OReilly. There's a great chance that this will happen since in its 90th year, the Academy has been giving many firsts, such as the first female best director in Kathryn Bigelow and OJ: Made in America, the first made-for-TV program winning Best Documentary.

OReilly happily announced this breaking news on Twitter. He exclaimed: this is "the first time this happened to a game/interactive project." He was referring to his work Everything winning the Jury Prize in Animation at the VSF which automatically qualifies its entry for the Animated Short Film Oscar awards.

It Is A Game Where The Player Can Be Anything In Everything

Everything is a short simulation-based video game that gives the player control over a lot of objects in the universe. In other words, the gamer can totally manipulate every item, in any form, manner, shape, and sizes ranging from sub-atomic particles to massive land masses. He can even choose to play a poop if he wants to.

In Everything, the player's task is to occupy as many objects as he can find in the video game. Once he has done that, he can then venture beyond this material world and go beyond wherever his senses may want to wander. The video below is a trailer of this video game. It's 10 minutes long but it's worthwhile to view it. It will show why this game deserves the first Oscar for its type in the next Academy Awards.
