Funcom announced last Wednesday that it is launching Conan Exiles for Xbox One on Aug. 16. In addition, the game developer also revealed that an Xbox One X update will be released later. PC owners were the first ones to receive the title last January. Over 500,000 million copies were sold in its Early Access initiative.
A New Region In Conan Exiles Is Coming
Although the title has initially received mixed receptions, Funcom still decided to continue with its long-term plan. Apparently, this plan included the release of the Conan Exiles new expansion this coming August. This update is titled Frozen Highlands in the North which will feature a new region in the video game.
According to Lawrence Poe, Funcom head of games, the new expansion of Conan Exiles will increase the video game's open-world by approximately 50 percent. It added that this new region will feature new environments mostly consisting of snow-swept plains. There will be new structures added and new monsters will be roaming the game's open world.
An Xbox One X Will Make The Game World Even More Realistic
As have already been mentioned, the game developer also confirmed that Conan Exiles will receive an update to support Xbox One X. This update will bring the current 4K resolution capability to the title. The game developer hopes that with 4k's superior hardware, the game world of Conan the Barbarian will be more realistic and visually appealing.
Early Buyers Of The Title Will Have Additional Bonuses
Poe also explained the benefit that will be enjoyed by those who already bought their copies of Conan Exiles while it is still in development. He explained that they will get this massive update for free. Apparently, he is encouraging those who have not yet decided if they will buy the title at its Early Access state.
PS4 owners should not be disappointed. The game developer also announced that Conan Exiles is also coming to this platform although it has not confirmed its release date yet. They need to watch out for further announcement from the developer.
