Samsung wil be holding an event in London on June 20 where it wil announce new variants of Galaxy S4 smartphones. The devices expected to be announced are the more petite Galaxy S4 mini, a camera-focused Galaxy S4 Zoom and the more rugged Galaxy S4 Active. And, we now know that at least the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will make its way to AT&T in the U.S.
Samsung has seen its entire Galaxy S4 variant smartphones leak before it officially announces the devices at its June 20 event in London. The company is going to offer up the Galaxy S4 brand on at least three smartphones at the event. The Galaxy S4 mini, as its name implies will be marketed as a smaller version of its flagship smartphone and leaked images of the smartphone back up its name. The Galaxy S4 Zoom will share the same 4.3-inch display of the Galaxy S4 mini but will ship with a whopping 16-megapixel rear camera with 10x Optical Zoom. The Galaxy S4 Active will be Samsung's rugged version of its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone and will be the first smartphone the company releases that will include a metal case.
While we don't know which carriers Samsung will partner with to carry the new Galaxy S4 variants, we know at least one of them will be coming to the U.S. on AT&T. New images leaked by The Unlockr, show that the Galaxy S4 Active with AT&T branding. The Galaxy S4 Active will reportedly go by the model number SGH-I537, will be available in choice of dark grey or teal, and some of the current rumored specs include a 5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, a powerful 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, and a 2600 mAh removable battery.
Samsung is expected to make all of these smartphones official on June 20 and according to The Unlockr there's a hint in the leaked press photo of when the Galaxy S4 Active will be available. If true, the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will be available for purchase on June 21. However, we'll have to wait for Samsung to officially announce the release date.
