The fresh rumors came up today confirming the details of the two smartphones. Aside from that, according to 9to5Google, the rumors also provided the first solid insight into what should be the specs that these upcoming devices will have.

Google Pixel 2: Taimen

The larger device coming from Google is codenamed as "Taimen." It is expected to be unveiled this year with features that are very much interesting than its predecessor. A 5.99-inch display with a 1440p OLED panel will be provided by LG, as reported by XDA-Developers.

The anticipated smartphone will sport a smaller bezel compared to the original Pixel XL and there will be a model with up to 128GB storage. The mobile device will indeed pack the expected Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor alongside 4GB of RAM. The rear part of it is expected to be similar to last year Google's flagship which has a two-tone glass and metal finish. However, the glass window is placed near the top and not encloses the fingerprint scanner like what previous reports said. Taimen will also feature a single camera with dual LED flash.

Google Pixel 2: Walleye

The other Google Pixel 2 smartphone coming this year is codenamed as the Walleye. It is considered as a smaller Pixel device that will feature a familiar 4.97-inch display with FHD resolution. The design will remain “almost identical” to last year’s smaller Google Pixel.

Aside from the same size feature, the upcoming Walleye smartphone will also have similarly large bezels surrounding the display. The most interesting feature of the phone will be the inclusion of the stereo speakers at the expense of the 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone will also feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 with 4GB of RAM, and with and the option of storage up to 64GB of storage. With these features, the Google's Walleye will be part of the few small display smartphones with premium specifications.
