The HTC One may be making waves in the smartphone circuit, but it seems that the Taiwan-based company is not going to rest on its laurels and will launch the smaller version of the device, dubbed the HTC One Mini or HTC M4 soon. Now a series of images of the alleged HTC One Mini have popped up online, giving fans a glimpse into what the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini challenger may look like.
The leaked images are courtesy of Estonian site Delfi.ee and show the HTC One Mini from different angles, including a side-by-side comparison with the HTC One. This image in particular is quite striking as it shows the size difference between the two smartphones.
According to Android Central, "the shots seem to confirm what's been rumored about the M4, specifically that it's a smaller version of the HTC One without the aluminum unibody."
The Estonian site's sources have also disclosed the specs for the HTC One Mini. The smartphone will allegedly sport a 4.3-inch 720p display, a dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. The HTC M4 will reportedly run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean and have an UltraPixel camera which would offer a resolution of 4 megapixels.
Moreover, upon closer scrutiny of the leaked images, one can see HTC's Sense 5 software in action. The BoomSound front-facing speakers can also be spied.
We recently reported that the HTC M4 or HTC One Mini would release in mid-July and tout the same design of its bigger sibling, the flagship HTC One.
The new report, however, hints at an August launch and the HTC One Mini is speculated to be priced around $520.
The HTC One Mini is being pitted as the challenger to the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, which coincidentally has a 4.3-inch display as well. While the two companies face-off for supremacy in the bigger smartphone space, it seems that the smaller arena is also going to have the two battling it out for top honors.
The Galaxy S4 Mini is also expected to hit the shelves sometime in late June early July, following Samsung's event in London on June 20. With the impending release of both the smartphones looking neck-to-neck, it will be interesting to see which smartphone reigns supreme.
