It's been a long wait for T-Mobile customers to get a top-end Windows Phone 8 smartphone on the carrier in the form of Nokia Lumia 925, and finally the carrier has started pre-registration for the smartphone.
Pre-registration of the Lumia 925 is not the same as pe-order. It is not a confirmation that you will receive the handset on the release date. Pre-registration means that you will get regular updates from the carrier on the Nokia Lumia 925, including its release date.
The Lumia 925 is T-Mobile's variant of Nokia Lumia 920. The handset is not the only Windows phone appearing on the carrier's smartphone portfolio as the entry-level Nokia Lumia 521 is also offered by the carrier. However, the introduction of a T-Mobile exclusive top-end WP8 smartphone may attract more customers and may at the same time give stiff competition to other WP8 smartphones available on other carriers, like the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 and the AT&T Nokia Lumia 920.
Carriers in China and the UK have also begun accepting pre-orders for the Lumia 925 over the last few days, but T-Mobile has been silent on when pre-orders will begin and when the handset will hit the shelves.
Till now, all other Nokia Windows Phones have been made of unibody polycarbonate designs. However, the Lumia 925 will be the first Windows Phone device made by the Finnish company to feature an aluminum chassis.
The Lumia handsets have been known in the smartphone space for its wide range of colors in which they are available. However, the color options for Lumia 925 will be limited, the handset being offered in only silver or black. However you can add color options to the device using a series of bright backs that also enable the device to be used with Nokia's wireless charging stands and docks.
