A few months before the launch of the HTC One, it looked as if HTC had lost its way in the smartphone world. It was one of the top smartphone manufacturers before Apple and Samsung took over the smartphone market with iPhones and Galaxy smartphones. The HTC One, however, turned out to be a hero phone for the company and now that success has given the company new confidence in going after its biggest Android rival, Samsung.
The HTC One is considered to be one of the best smartphones released in 2013 and there's no better way to keep that momentum going than by sticking with the same recipe for success it used in the HTC One. The upcoming HTC T6, which will reportedly officially be called the HTC One Max, will go head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as HTC is reportedly planning on launching it around the same time as Samsung launches Galaxy Note 3.
According to Mobileaks, an anonymous tipster has sent in a sketch of what the upcoming HTC One Max is expected to look like, with its dimensions, specs, and features included. The HTC One Max will feature a 5.9-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD display with very thin bezels to take on the Galaxy Note 3's expected 5.9-inch display. A 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor will power the Max. Samsung is also believed to be using the same processor to power the Galaxy Note 3. The phablet is also expected to be one of the first devices to run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, but recent rumors have claimed Google might have to delay the launch. If so, the Max will most likely ship with Android 4.3.
The source also claims that the Max will be a very thin phablet with it being 9.4mm thick and will also include the same high-end anodized aluminum unibody case that its smaller sibling has become famous for. While the Galaxy Note 3 is expected to retain the same plastic casing Samsung is known for, and is rumored to look like a larger Galaxy S4. The Max will include the high-quality front-facing BoomSound stereo speakers with Beats audio technology built in, as well as HTC's UltraPixel camera. A large, non-removable 3,300-mAh battery will power the device.
The HTC One Max will reportedly launch in September, which just happens to be the same time Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 3. It appears that HTC has gained some newfound confidence by how well the HTC One has been received and is now ready to battle the current king of the phablet world, Samsung, and its upcoming Galaxy Note 3.
