BlackBerry launched its long-awaited operating system, BlackBerry 10, in January this year and the company's BlackBerry Z10 became the first handset to run on the latest operating system. T-Mobile is now pushing out the latest software version BlackBerry 10.1 to its BlackBerry Z10.
The software release weighs around 347MB in size and T-Mobile is pushing the update over-the-air (OTA) to all users who have an official firmware installed on their handsets. The update will also be available through BlackBerry Link.
The T-Mobile support page says "Beginning June 10, the BlackBerry Z10 will have a software update to BlackBerry OS 10.1 via OTA and BlackBerry Link. This update improves device performance, provides additional security, and resolves several known issues."
BlackBerry 10.1 software update will bring several enhancements and improvements to the BlackBerry Z10. Users should receive HD Voice functionality and a new Corporate Liable feature for increased security for those customers who use the device in highly regulated and secure corporate environments.
The update also brings Mnemonic Phone Dialing, which enables users to dial phone numbers by name or number. The software update also improves device restarting during normal use, offers better battery life and improves cursor control when selecting text.
BlackBerry 10.1 will also resolve various issues such as deleting prior messages, stuck new voicemail indicator and duplicate Gmail contacts.
Following the latest software update, meeting invites should be showing the correct time while caller ID is set to display information for contacts, which it wasn't doing from the beginning. You can also find full details of the BlackBerry 10.1 software update by visiting the T-Mobile's support page.
