4 Android Tips and Tricks To Be An Android Guru

1. Easily Arrange Home Screen Layout

According to PCMag, when a mobile device is switched on, the first thing to appear is the home screen.

This screen shows a series of icons that may be clicked or touched to launch apps and internal operations. The startup screen contains the home button, widget, main menu, and more.

Since there is a possibility that the home screen might be crowded, Android users can easily organize the things included in the home screen.

In relation to this, Digital Trends shared the following ways to organize it:

  1. Head to the "Settings" icon then tap "Wallpaper and Styles."
  2. In the Wallpaper and Styles, choose the "App Grid" button.
  3. After tapping the App Grid button, Android users will be able to choose from 4 x 4, 4 x 5, 3 x 3, and 2 x 2. Keep in mind that the 5 x 5 grid is the default format.

Digital Trends also explained that if users choose the smaller grids, it will give them fewer but larger app icons on their home screen. By choosing the smaller grids, users will be scrolling through more pages on their home screen to reach certain apps.

2. Disable Pre-Installed Applications

Apart from the home screen layout, TechinDroid also shared that Android users can disable the pre-installed apps on the device.

For instance, most gadgets come with pre-installed programs that we cannot delete in any manner. Additionally, these unwanted apps also notify us to update them.

Unfortunately, we cannot get rid of them, but we can disable them and prevent unwanted notifications. They will still take up memory, but they will no longer dominate resources with each update that are never utilized.

The following steps will be able to help Android users to disable the pre-installed applications:

  1. Head to the "Settings" icon then choose "Applications."
  2. From there, select and choose the system apps to disable.
  3. After that, uncheck the "Show Notification" option to prevent unwanted notification updates.
  4. Lastly, choose "Disable" then accept.

In case the Android user wants to still receive notification updates from the system app, reverse the option "Disable" to "Enable."

3. Navigate The Hidden Menu

Every Android device contains a hidden menu that has a lot of interesting information about the smartphone. The said hidden menu can show users all the statistics on application usage, the state of the battery (temperature, use, health, etc.), and more information about the connections and the terminal.

The following steps are ways to navigate the hidden menu:

  1. Head to the "Dial" app of the device.
  2. From there, type the code *#*#4636#*#* then press call.

4. Access Safe Mode

The Safe Mode on an Android device allows users to reset their smartphone to debug the smartphone from the third-party software. The following ways will allows users to restart the device in Safe Mode:

  1. Press and hold the Power off button until the Shutdown option displays.
  2. After that, choose and hold "Shut down" on the screen until the warning to restart in safe mode shows.
  3. Lastly, proceed with the operation.
