Apple's New Macs with M2 Chips Test Third-Party Apps

The developer logs suggest that Apple has already started its internal testing for upcoming Mac offerings in the future, along with the successor of the M1 chip.

As per a news story by Bloomberg, the Cupertino-based tech giant looks to be working on its new set of Macs offerings, which reportedly sports four next-generation M2 chipsets.

The news outlet stated in its report that various developer logs have left traces of the new Mac models and the upcoming M2 chips, revealing what Apple has yet to unveil to its fans and other bystanders.

In total, the developer logs revealed that the iPhone maker is testing third-party apps for nine new Mac machines carrying four unreleased M2 chips variants, which are meant to replace the current M1 chips.

Bloomberg went on to add that the latest sightings of the Macs and M2 chips suggest that the upcoming Apple products are likely to see the light of day anytime soon.

New Apple Macs with M2 Chips

According to the latest story of MacRumors, Apple is working on several next-generation MacBook, a new Mac mini, and a Mac Pro.

The logs reported by Bloomberg further exposed that Apple is working on Macs that are running various M2 chip variants, such as the M2 Ultra, M2 Max, the M2 Pro, and the standard M2.

The MacBook Air in the dev logs comes with an M2 chip, which flaunts an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. Another standard M2 chip laptop is the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which serves as the base model.

However, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models come with two next-generation M2 chips, namely, the Pro and Max variants. The M2 Max chip reportedly boasts a 12-core CPU, along with a 38-core GPU.

M2 Mac Mini, Mac Pro

On the other hand, Apple is reportedly testing two new Mac mini models, one powered by the standard M2, the other version rocks a more powerful M2 Pro chip.

What's more, the Cupertino giant is also reportedly testing an M1 Max chip-powered Mac mini, which is similar to what the recent Mac Studio also featured.

MacRumors noted in its story that the M1 Max Mac mini in the internal testing is somewhat a redundant offering from Apple. That said, the online news outlet suggests that Apple could instead go for M2 chips for the next generation of the compact-sized Mac.

On top of that, the tech giant is also reportedly testing a new Mac Pro, which features the most powerful M2 chip variant.
