A PlayStation Plus tier upgrade could easily be performed at any given time, Sony told current users of the gaming service.

The revamped gaming subscription service of Sony PlayStation is nearing its much-awaited debut roughly a month from now.
As such, the Japanese tech giant is trying to make the transition of its current users easy, explaining the ins and outs of the upcoming changes.
As per a news story by Games Radar, Sony sent an email to its users in Asia, which would be the first-ever market to experience the new tiers of PlayStation Plus, detailing the changes coming to the service.
The news outlet noted that the new PlayStation tiers are coming first to Asia on May 23.
To get things ready, Sony confirmed to its Asian users that the "PlayStation Plus membership is changing," introducing new tiers, such as PlayStation Plus Deluxe, PlayStation Plus Extra, and entry-level PlayStation Plus Essential.
PlayStation Plus Tier Upgrades
The email also told existing PS Plus players that their membership would "automatically migrate into an equivalent subscription plan" in the revamped version of the gaming service.
However, if PS Plus users opt to cancel their membership before the launch of the new gaming service, it would not transition to its upcoming revamped iteration.
Although Sony is automatically migrating its users to the new PS Plus, it clarified that there is no increase in its fees, as well as its payment dates, at least without any consent from the players themselves.
But if current PS Plus players would want to upgrade their experience by going to a higher tier, Sony touted that it is an easy task.

The Japanese tech giant precisely said that current PS Plus players could "easily upgrade to a high benefits plan at any time."
Sony also further shared how players could upgrade their PS Plus tiers, proving that it is not much of a hassle after all.
The gaming tech giant went on to reveal that existing players are only required to pay the difference of the new plan that they want to get. It also adds that the upgrades could be done anytime.
However, Games Radar noted in the same report that Sony did not mention how users could downgrade their PS Plus tiers. But it should be out some time from now as the release of the revamped service nears.
