Epic Games Store's free game offering for this week is the hit sci-fi horror gaming title, Prey, along with other two exciting games.
It has been an unwritten tradition for the digital storefront of Epic to give away weekly free games every Thursday.
Epic Games Store Free Offering
As per a news story by Polygon, the Epic Games Store has been announcing its game offerings every week ahead of its brief window of free download period.
It allows those with accounts in the gaming marketplace to add games to their libraries without spending any money. Once they download a gaming title during the period, they could already play it anytime they want as it would be permanently theirs.
Epic Games revealed in the first months of 2022 that it would continue its gaming title giveaway for the year. That said, there have been numerous free games since last January that its users have been enjoying.
The weekly giveaway of Epic Games seeks to attract more gamers to switch to its online storefront, given the steep competition with the top player in the market, Steam.
Epic Games Store Offers Prey for Free
For this week, Epic Games Store is offering three promising gaming titles for free.
The free game is the 2017 first-shooter game of Arcane Studios, Prey, which is now available for download on the Epic Games Store up until May 19.
As per a news story by Kotaku, those who would, unfortunately, miss the claiming period of Prey could still get their hands on the hit sci-fi horror gaming title. The bargain way to play the Arcane first-shooter is by heading straight to get an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
It is worth noting that Prey retails for $29.99 on Steam. So, you are saving that much by grabbing the first-shooter horror on Epic Games Store.
Epic Store Free Games May 12- May 19
Apart from Prey, Epic Games Store is giving away two other noteworthy gaming titles as well.
The official Epic Games Store highlighted that the freebies this week are now three exciting free games, namely Prey, Jotun: Valhalla Edition, and Redout: Enhanced.
Like Prey, the storefront of Epic is offering both Redout: Enhanced and Jotun: Valhalla Edition until May 19.
One of trio, Jotun, centers on Norse-themed action. Gaming studios, Sundered and Spritfarer, made the action-adventure gaming title possible, which heavily brings one of the biggest trends these days - Vikings.
Meanwhile, the other freebie, Redout, brings the classic sci-fi racing experience. Italy-based studio 34BigThings together with Nicalis and 505 Games, brought us its Enhanced Edition.
