An iPhone flew three international trips on its own before reuniting with its rightful owner. It comes as a passenger left the Apple smartphone during a flight to Sydney.
Thus, the iPhone flew multiple solo flights going back and forth from Sydney to Auckland as its owner appears to have had a difficult time getting help to retrieve it, as per a news story by One Mile at a Time.
iPhone Flew Three Solo International Trips
Thanks to the "Find My iPhone" feature of Apple, the passenger tracked the three solo round trips of his mobile device while waiting for the assistance of the airline.
According to a report by MacRumors, the Find My network of Apple helps its owners of iPhones, iPads, and Macs to track their devices without having to connect to the internet or even while it is turned off.
But when official help does not come by quickly - all you can do is watch the device fly from one country to another. At least you know it is still inside the aircraft.
As per the latest story by Apple Insider, a user who goes by the username Rugby started a thread online to ask if anyone knows how to contact the lounge of Qantas Airways in Sydney.
During that time, the iPhone user was still unsure where the device had been left behind. However, Find My iPhone revealed that it was still inside the plane.
Even with the online thread, the owner still had a hard time reaching out to Qantas in a bid to get his phone back.

iPhone's Long Solo Journey
As such, the iPhone, which was still inside the plane, flew from Sydney to Auckland.
That's not all. It even reached the shores of Honolulu before it got back to the capital city of New South Wales once again.
Lastly, the third solo flight of the iPhone flew to Auckland and Sydney. All this time, the owner was only tracking his Apple device using the Find My feature.
When the plane landed back in Sydney, thanks to the folks from the online forum, the iPhone user received a call from Qantas. The person on the other side of the call said the device is already on its way to the international baggage services.
"Rugby" took a week before getting his hands back to his iPhone, which flew internationally without its owner.
By the way, the three flights were enough for the iPhone to earn an "elite" Qantas Frequent Flyer badge for the miles it got, One Mile At a Time notes.
