Stephen A. Smith Tags the WRONG Devin Booker on Twitter

It is safe to assume that every NBA fan and basketball afficionado had something to say about the Game 7 win of the Dallas Mavericks over the Phoenix Suns. Unsurprisingly, one of those people is in ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith.

In fact, Smith went on Twitter to share what he had to say about the outcome of the game. He even tagged two of the Suns' players, Chris Paul and Devin Booker. Or at least he thought he tagged the Devin Booker he was meaning to tag.

It turns out that Stephen A. Smith tagged the wrong Devin Booker in his tweet.

Dallas Mavericks Beats Phoenix Suns in Game 7

Before we get to how all that happened, let us first talk about what caused Smith to tweet to begin with.

The Dallas Mavericks stunned the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 by beating them 123-90. This means that the Mavericks are off to the Western Conference finals, where they are set to go against the Golden State Warriors.

"The Mavericks jumped out to a 57-27 lead over the top-seeded Phoenix Suns on Sunday night and never looked back on their way to a 123-90 win," CBS Sports says in its report about what went on in the game.

Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with a total of 35 points. Teammates Spencer Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson had 30 points and 24 points, respectively.

On the other hand, Cam Johnson was the Suns' top scorer as he managed to end the game with 12 points. Devin Booker, considered to be the team's star player, had 11 points while veteran Chris Paul only had 10 points to contribute.

Much has been said about to the Suns' loss to the Mavericks and, unsurprisingly, Stephen A. Smith is one mof those who took to Twitter to share what he had to say about the game.

"I have never been more wrong. I can't believe how great the @dallasmavs look — and how pathetically awful the @Suns look," Smith said in his tweet. He went on to tag the Twitter accounts of two Suns players in his tweet. One was Chris Paul and the other was Devin Booker.

That is where things went not so right because the ESPN analyst ended up tagging the wrong Devin Booker in his tweet.

According to a report by ClutchPoints, "Instead of the Suns' star, he mentioned the American hooper with the same name but is suiting up for Turkish club Fenerbahçe." It does not quite end there either as the Devin Booker he tagged responded him on Twitter as well.

While many Twitter users were unable to tell that Stephen A. Smith tagged the wrong Devin Booker, there were those who were quick to point out the error.
