It's time to make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs in style with LEGO's Millennium Falcon Ultimate Collector Series.
LEGO is a big fan of George Lucas' Star Wars franchise, with the company developing the Lego Star Wars game, of which the latest was Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The company also manufactured and sold various LEGO versions of the franchise's many vehicles and apparel, one of them being the Millenium Falcon.
The company is no stranger to creating the Millenium Falcon in its typical LEGO style. However, what's special with LEGO's latest Millennium Falcon build is that it is in the Ultimate Collector Series.
Here's what you need to know about the awesome LEGO Millennium Falcon Ultimate Collector Series.
Lego Millenium Falcon Ultimate Collector Series Trivia
Number of Pieces
According to Lego's official website, the LEGO Millennium Falcon Ultimate Collector Series is made up of 7,541 pieces and is listed as product no. 75192. This building set was released in 2017 and is the second Millennium Falcon LEGO made, with the first being released in 2011, per GeekHut.
Faithful Recreation of the Original
This particular build faithfully recreates the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy far, far, away from its intricate hull detailing and cockpit to its upper and lower quad laser cannons and detachable canopy.
Fans Had a Say
You can even open the Falcon by removing its hull panels to see the ship's main hold, engine room with hyperdrive and console, the access ladder to the gunnery station, and lower its boarding ramp and landing legs. According to Den of Geek, the removable panels were requested by fans so they could see the ship's interior.
It's Updated Even to the Third Trilogy Timeline
If you're not yet impressed by this build, the Ultimate Collector Series of the Falcon also comes with pieces that replicate the Falcon as it appears in "The Force Awakens."
It's BIG
The LEGO Millenium Falcon Ultimate Collector Series measures 8 inches high, 33 inches long, and 23 inches wide, making this particular build one of the largest LEGO has ever put on sale.
It Comes With a Crew!
The Ultimate Collector Series includes the Falcon's original crew: the Corellian smuggler turned Rebel Alliance general Han Solo, his Wookie companion, Chewbacca, Alderaanian Senator, and Princess Leia Organa and her talkative Protocol Droid, C-3PO.
LEGO also added other more recent crew members of the Falcon, which is made up of a much older Han Solo, Rey, and Finn from the franchise's Disney Sequel trilogy. The company also included a BB-8 droid, two buildable Porgs (which were a late addition), and a buildable Mynock as furry companions within the Falcon's hulls.
LEGO even added Han's blaster pistol and Chewie's stud-firing bowcaster to the mix.
You Can Learn More Star Wars Stuff as You Build
The LEGO Millennium Falcon Ultimate Collector Series comes with an informational fact plaque and an extensive building instructions booklet which includes information on the designers and behind-the-scenes facts about the build.
Even the Makers Want a Bigger Millenium Falcon
LEGO has wanted to make the Millenium Falcon's Ultimate Collector Series for years. When asked about why LEGO decided to release a newer and bigger LEGO Millenium Falcon, LEGO Star Wars Design Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen replied, "Is there ever a wrong time? It's now ten years ago since we did the first one, and we know it's been highly requested."
LEGO Star Wars Design Manager Michael Lee Stockwell shared the same sentiment as Frederiksen, saying they've been thinking about making a bigger Falcon for years.
"In the end, the Falcon's importance in the new trilogy of films helped LEGO get the green light on this project, and so work began," Stockwell added.
LEGO Millennium Falcon Ultimate Collector Series Price
The LEGO Millennium Falcon Ultimate Collector Series has a price tag of $799.99, which may be on the pricey side. However, Den of Geek claimed that the company wouldn't find any trouble selling them.
Despite that, the price is still on the expensive side of things, which led to Stockwell apologizing for bankrupting fans when asked about the price.
If you buy this set, do take your time. One LEGO Star Wars fan got a set and managed to complete it in fifteen hours (!) due to the set's size.
