Let's Get To Know Gorr the God Butcher
Gorr the God Butcher is a supervillain who has devoted his life to the killing of gods. His devotion to killing gods is born out of an insatiable and somewhat justified need for vengeance.
According to Marvel Comics, Gorr was born into extreme poverty on a planet with no name. Every single day, he and his parents graze by on the brink of starvation.
Things got even worst for Gorr when both of his parents died while he was still a child and he was left to fend for himself.
Eventually, Gorr started his own family with a mate he found, Arra. Unfortunately, Gorr didn't quite get the "happily ever after" ending that he wanted. Because of an earthquake, his pregnant mate Arra died, followed shortly after by the deaths of each of his children.
A critical point was reached with the death of his last son Agar from starvation. After numerous unanswered prayers, Gorr said to his people that there were no gods, leading to his exile.
But things turned differently when Gorr encountered a truly shocking revelation while wandering the desert of his homeworld, wanting desperately to die.
He witnessed a battle between two gods and came to realize that gods actually exist. But the gods are just indifferent to his family's suffering, ignoring their prayers.
During the battle, one of the gods begs for Gorr's help. This infuriated him and led the other god's symbiote-like sword to bond to him, which grant him the weapon of All-Black the Necrosword.
Starting at that point, Gorr started his crusade to kill every god he could find.
