Twitter has had much to say about the ongoing Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial and it looks like there is still much to say as the trial nears its end.
This time around, people on the social media site did not hesitate to share what they have to say about the news that Depp's ex-girlfriend, supermodel Kate Moss, will be testifying in the trial. Moss has been invited by Depp's legal team to testify after Heard mentioned an alleged incident involving Depp pushing Moss down the stairs
The defamation trial between the two actors, who were once married to each other, is taking place after Depp sued Heard for $50 million. The trial is expected to end Friday, May 27.
Kate Moss to Testify in the Depp vs Heard Defamation Trial
A huge name in the modelling industry is about to testify in one of the much-talked about legal trials this year.
Kate Moss will be testifying in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial.
According to a report by Twitter, the supermodel will speak to the court via video link on Wednesday, May 25. This latest development comes after Heard mentioned an alleged past incident wherein Depp supposedly pushed Moss down the stairs.
The mention of the alleged incident took place while Heard was discussing another alleged altercation, this time between Depp and her sister, Whitney Henriquez.
"Depp's lawyers were spotted fist-pumping when Heard mentioned Moss' name during her testimony, presumably because it gave them the opportunity to bring in the model as an impeachment witness to dispel the rumored incident," People's report notes.
That seems to be the case as it is Depp's legal team who has called Moss to be testify in the trial.
"That's one mistake that [Heard] made, was bringing up Kate Moss, which potentially opened the door to [Depp's team] bringing [Moss] on as an impeachment witness" - and Moss "saying 'This never happened,'" Entertainment lawyer Mitra Ahouraian said, according to a report by the New York Post.
This, however, is not the first time Heard mentioned the alleged incident. Heard likewise mentioned it during Johnny Depp's defamation trial in the United Kingdom back in 2020.
