Some of Sony's PlayStation original games will soon have their own TV series.

Sony Interactive Entertainment President Jim Ryan revealed at a Sony Business Briefing that TV series dedicated to Guerilla Games' Horizon Zero Dawn and Santa Monica Studio's God of War series are in development, per Games Radar.

Horizon and God of War TV Series: Where To Watch

According to Jim Ryan's announcement on the morning of May 26, the TV series dedicated to Horizon Zero Dawn will be gifted to Netflix, while the God of War TV series will be exclusively streamed by Amazon.

Information regarding the two TV series is limited, aside from the mentioned details. As such, there is no definite release date when the two TV series will be coming to the small screen. However, if we take Ryan's comments on the TV series as Sony's confirmation of these projects, the Horizon Zero Dawn TV Series and God of War TV series could be released in 2025 or 2026.

There is no clear indication if Horizon's TV Series will be live-action or animated. However, the possibility of Netflix looking into the animated side of the spectrum is high given the success of its Castlevania animated TV series, according to ComicBook.com, and recent announcements like Tekken: Bloodline.

Sony referred to its attempts to expand several of its franchises "beyond gaming" during the briefing, citing the recent Uncharted movie and HBO's upcoming The last of US TV show, which will air in 2023, according to Deadline.

The Gamer confirmed Sony's intentions to be true in its report, citing a post from a ResetEra user.

Meanwhile, a separate Deadline article reported that Amazon, particularly its Prime Video wing, was in negotiations for a live-action TV series dedicated to God of War. With Ryan confirming the TV series going to Amazon, it seems Amazon's negotiations were successful and have borne fruit.

Other Sony Video Games Adapted Into a TV Series

Aside from the Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War series, Jim Ryan also mentioned that a TV series dedicated to the Gran Turismo franchise is also in the works. Unfortunately, Ryan didn't specify which streaming service or company would be taking the Gran Turismo TV series into its fold.

On the other hand, another PlayStation game, Twisted Metal, will also have its own TV series, which will be streamable at NBC's Peacock and will be starring Neve Campbell and Anthony Mackie, per Variety.

Neve Campbell recently played Sidney Prescott in the latest "Scream" movie, while Anthony Mackie is popularly known for his role as The Falcon for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Twisted Metal TV series was first reported to be in development in February 2021. Meanwhile, HBO's The Last of Us TV series is expected to be released in 2023.
