Netflix has announced that its hit South Korean zombie series "All of Us are Dead" is getting a second season.
The announcement has been made as a part of Netflix's Geeked Week. A video, which features lead stars Cho Yi-hyun, Lomon, Park Ji-hu, and Yoon Chan-young, announcing the second season has also been uploaded on social media by the streaming platform.
The first season of the show priemered on Netflix on January 28, 2022.
Netflix's 'All of Us are Dead' Season Two
Netflix's "All of Us are Dead" is officially getting a second season.
According to a report by Variety, the announcement was made during the streaming platform's Geeked Week. The purpose of Geeked Week is to "showcase new and returning series, in addition to positioning Netflix as the home of Asian horror and sci-fi genre content."
Netflix Korea posted a tweet on its official Twitter account that includes a video of the four main cast members thanking their fans for their support and announcing that season two is officially happening. You can watch the video below:
The Twitter account also uploaded a poster of the zombie series' second season.
'All of Us are Dead'
"All of Us are Dead" is a Netflix series based on the Korean webtoon "Now at Our School" by Joo Dong-geun. The story of this zombie series follows a group of high school students are they try to survive and escape when a zombie outbreak begins at the school, which is located in the fictional city called Hyosan.
What eventually happens outside the high school is also show and there is particular focus on what happens to the Hyosan Police detective and auxiliary police officer who are suddenly entrusted with the information that can solve the zombie crisis.
Variety notes that season one, which is 12 episodes long, "ended on a cliffhanger, with six survivors from the outbreak rescued but quarantined by the government, and class president Nam-ra (Cho) now a half-zombie."

The Success of Season One of 'All of Us are Dead'
According to Variety, "All of Us are Dead" is part of Netflix's top ten non-English shows of all time. This happened in 91 countries, per the report, and the zombie series stayed there for two successive weeks. In fact, in its first 10 days, "All of Us are Dead" tallied a total of 361 million viewing hours.
Soompi reports that the zombie series shot straight to number one in the Netflix chart of 25 countries within the day of its release. It is also the fourth South Korean show to ever make it into the charts following "Arcane," "Hellbound," and "Squid Game."
It likewise comes second to "Squid Game" in terms of being the most popular South Korean shows that can be found on the streaming platform.
