Twitter once again proved that it's not just a microblogging site but a platform that can achieve great things if users will come together for a cause.
Twitter users helped a cancer patient reached The Pokémon Company, and the patient might have a chance to access Pokémon Scarlet and Violet before the game was officially release on November 18.
Doctor's Tweet Got 3,000 Retweets and a Reply from Pokémon's VP of Technology
It started with a tweet from Pediatric Erica C. Kaye. She tweeted that she has a patient who has an unspecified type of cancer and the boy dreams to play Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. According to Kaye, it is unlikely for the boy to live and see the official launch of the game. With that, she is seeking the help of Twitter to reach out to The Pokémon Company if they can do something to grant the boy's wish.
As of writing, the tweet garnered nearly 3,000 retweets and Pokémon's VP of Technology Eric Neustadter has responded to Erica's tweet. Neustadter said that he is not sure if the boy can get to play the actual game, but he would like to arrange something special for the boy.
Twitter may be a cause of pain and stress for some users, but this time, it's good to see the community work together for a good cause. Nintendo Life said that they do hope the boy gets to live his dream. They also expressed appreciation to The Pokémon Company.

Details About 'Pokemon Scarlet' and 'Violet' Revealed in the Trailer
According to The Pokémon Company, the new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet game will be released on November 18. The new game will feature a new open world structure, and four-player co-op for the first time.
New mainline Pokémon game's world were shown in the trailer. One of the highlights is the introduction of two new legendary monsters, Koraidon, who appears in Scarlet, and Miraodon, who appears in Violet, according to IGN.
"These two Pokémon are said to have powers that far surpass those of other Pokémon but details about Koraidon and Miraidon are still shrouded in mystery," a description on the Pokémon website said.
Scarlet and Violet are said to be the first ever open-world Pokémon games in the franchise. With this, players will be able to approach the game in their own pace, not dictated by the story.
The new Pokémon will be moving away from the earlier entries of Japan-inspired worlds. Previously, the fictional realms of France and United Kingdom have been the setting of the recent mainline Pokémon games. Thus, there are fans who believe that the fictional reals of Spain and Portugal will be the setting of Scarlet and Violet.
Scarlet and Violet also appears to feature four-player co-op. "The trailer wrapped with a pre-rendered cinematic panning over the two version-specific legendary Pokémon," said Kotaku.
Scarlet and Violet, the next mainline entries in Game Freak's enormously popular Pokémon series, were first announced in February.
