HTC is getting ready to battle Samsung in the phablet world and the company has posted a teaser for its upcoming HTC One Max with the tagline "Big Things Ahead".
HTC was rumored to announce the HTC One Max at around the same time Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy Note 3. Samsung sent out press invites for an Unpacked event it is holding on September 4, and it is widely believed that the company will use the event to announce its next-generation flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 3. It seems like HTC caught wind of Samsung's plan and has decided to draw us in with a new teaser ad that has the HTC One Max written all over it.
HTC posted the short teaser video on Vine and can be seen below. The video shows a man waiting for a helicopter to arrive while staring at what looks to be the HTC One Max. We next see two men walk towards one another and high-five each other. It's a very short video and does not provide any details on what its purpose is. The strong hint is the "Big things ahead. #HTChange" message posted next to the video. The timing of the teaser's release on the same day Samsung sends out invites for the Galaxy Note 3 unveiling seems to imply that HTC is ready to battle Samsung with the HTC One Max, just like it did with the HTC One and Galaxy S4. The company is showing or at least trying to relay its confidence.
Leaked images of the HTC One Max have just surfaced and it seems the phablet retains the same anodized aluminum unibody enclosure that has made the HTC One a hit with consumers. HTC will be using a 5.9-inch full HD 1080p display, a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, as well as the company's UltraPixel camera and imaging technology in its first phablet.
Get ready for a phablet war in the fall. Between the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One Max, and Sony Xperia Z Ultra, consumers are going to have a hard time choosing a phablet, now that Samsung is no longer the only player in the game.
