The HTC One is currently one of the most popular Android smartphones around it's available in the U.S. on all major carriers apart from Verizon. A recent report now suggests that the handset will debut on Big Red on Aug. 29.
Verizon is quite late to this party, but interested buyers who are still waiting for the carrier to launch the HTC One may be hearing some good news soon.
"One of our loyal PhoneArena readers has dropped off a nice surprise in our in-box on Wednesday morning. Our source has presented us with a Verizon road map that takes us through the rest of this month and includes such eagerly awaited models as the new Motorola DROID Ultra, the Motorola Moto X and of course, the HTC One," reports Phone Arena.
Verizon has already confirmed its plans to launch the much-awaited HTC One on its network but the carrier has not confirmed an exact launch date.
HTC launched its flagship HTC One at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event earlier this year and the handset made its debut in many markets in April. Verizon customers, however, are left waiting for the handset still.
This is not the first time that rumors have emerged regarding the launch date of the HTC One on Verizon. A separate, previous report, Phone Arena claimed to have received a leaked roadmap of Verizon, which indicated an Aug. 1 launch date for the HTC One. The date has lapsed and the HTC One didn't make its appearance on Verizon.
So late in the game, however, the question now is whether consumers are still waiting for the Verizon variant of the HTC One.
The new HTC flagship comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, but some rumors suggest that the Verizon version of the handset will have the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and customers may also get a new blue color option. However, Verizon has not confirmed this information.
It's already been a few months since the HTC One started to reach customers, so if the Verizon version of the HTC One is the same as the other carriers', will the handset still appeal to customers?
