It comes as the Destiny 2 developer figures out its current game-breaking error, which some players exploit to crash their opponents.

Destiny 2 Bug Crashes Players

As per the news story by The Gamer, the players of Destiny 2 have started noticing that there has been an uptick in crashes within the free-to-play shoot game over the weekend.

Some players also point out that error codes have increased in the competitive game modes of the Bungie title.

It turns out that the unusual crashes and errors have been caused by a bug within Destiny 2.

The Gamer notes in its report that players have observed that the game starts crashing when they receive a string of text from other gamers.

It appears that some players in the PvP game mode of Destiny 2 have taken advantage of the exploit to win the game. They annoyingly used the bug to crash the game on the end of their opponents, giving the former an unfair advantage in the match to win it by default.

And as such, Guardians were swift to counter the error by sharing a way to avoid the bug at all costs as a fix has yet to come.

To prevent the crash, players of the shooter game had to disable the whispers option. And to effectively counter the bug, they also have to stay clear of public spaces where their Bungie name is exposed to the eyes of unwanted lurkers.

By doing so, they could avoid the exploit from crashing their systems, giving away the match to opportunistic players of Destiny 2.

Bungie Disables Destiny 2 Text Chat

The crashing issue has instantaneously spread across countless Destiny 2 players. That said, Bungie went on to investigate the game-breaking bug.

According to a recent report by PC Gamer, the developer of the game has decided to take down the text chat features of the shooter. The move comes hours after players have manually disabled it to avoid crashing issues.

The official Twitter account of Bungie Help confirms that it has "temporarily disabled text chat on all platforms in Destiny 2."

The Bungie Help Twitter also tweeted that the text chat would be unavailable while its team figured out the culprit of the game-breaking error on the multiplayer shooter game.

As of writing, Bungie has yet to give any update regarding the bug. Meanwhile, PC Gamer notes that the first for it might arrive on Monday as the offices of Bungie reopens after the weekend.
