Dead Island 2 is Set for February 2023 Release — Is It Possible to Preorder Now?

On February 2023, Dead Island 2 will finally be available, nine years after its first announcement, and Preorders for it are presently being accepted on Amazon.

Dead Island 2 Will Be Available in 2023 After Nine Years of Development

Dead Island 2 will be released on February 3, nine years after its first announcement, according to an Amazon listing for the PS4 version. That might be a placeholder and is subject to change.

It is consistent with previous statements made by the CEO of Embracer Group that the open-world zombie game would be launched in the company's 2023 fiscal year. Currently, it costs $70 to preorder it through Amazon.

The game's description on Amazon repeats several details that we already know from the game's lengthy development. Since the game is set in a terrifying Los Angeles, you'll combat zombies in Beverly Hills and Venice Beach. Numerous zombies with a LA theme need to be slain, and the fighting is nasty and gritty.

Dead Island 2 will have at least four playable characters, as reported in 2014, but the Amazon listing increases it to six. According to the Amazon description, "you may modify each Slayer's powers, with our brand-new skill system letting you re-spec instantaneously and test out the wildest configurations."

The Memories of Banoi Pack: Banoi War Club, Memories of Banoi: Baseball Bat, Balanced Weapon Perk, and Personal Space Skill Card are all included in the Day 1 Edition in addition to the original game.

This announcement, which comes in the wake of recent rumors about Dead Island 2, is shocking. According to journalist Tom Henderson, those with direct knowledge of Dead Island 2's development informed him the title was still under production and was anticipated to hit store shelves soon.

The Mother Company of Dead Island's Publisher Deep Silver Renames Itself to Plaion

To more accurately reflect its past and the organizations it partners with, Koch Media is changing its name to Plaion.

The revelation comes more than four years after Embracer Group (formerly THQ Nordic) paid about $150 million to purchase Koch, the owner of Saints Row producer Deep Silver.

The decision to change the name was made, according to Koch Media co-founder and CEO Klemens Kundratitz, to represent how the business had changed after the acquisition.

They said that after joining the Embracer Group in 2018, "our growth has expanded, and we have gotten more varied." According to the business, they chose a new name to reflect the organization and their experience more accurately. It illustrates how the company is evolving as it expands globally in terms of content and location.

The Plaion brand, according to Kundratitz, conveys the company's newly acquired position as a global publisher and developer in addition to giving a desire to accept change.

Since being bought by Embracer, Koch has grown via a number of acquisitions, including agreements with Dutch VR company Vertigo, Let's Sing creator Voxler, mechanize expert Development Plus Inc., and others.

Additionally, it launched a new publishing division called Prime Matter, created two new publishing offices in Asia to increase its worldwide reach, and made extensive publishing partnerships, such as the most recent arrangement to co-publish Payday 3.
