Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 comes with a lower starting price and a new stylish design, as confirmed by Microsoft when it introduced the new wireless controller.
Although it is cheaper and looks apart, it comes with a few compromises that might be a massive turn-off to some gaming folks.
Xbox's New Elite Controller Series 2
Leaks and rumors have been suggesting that the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller is about to get a white color option.
But this time, as per the news story by CNET, Microsoft has formally introduced the new sibling of its Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, proving that early reports were accurate.
The new version named the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core flaunts a stylish white and black contrasting design, which interestingly matches the aesthetic of its close rival, the Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5).
It is worth noting that the second-generation Xbox Elite Controller is nothing really new, except that it now sports a fresh white design besides the previous mainly black colorway.
But There's a Catch
However, it appears that Xbox has ditched the additional D-pad, extra thumbsticks, and paddles in the new version of the Elite Controller, according to a report by Comicbook.com.
Not to mention that the white version does not come with any carrying case, unlike the previous version of the Series 2.
Instead, Microsoft trimmed down its offerings by only including a USB cable and the new Elite Controller.
So you are still getting the same controller, but with a new look. However, all the additional accessories are only available on its "Complete Component Pack."
Those who want to get their hands on all the accessories available on the first release of the Series 2 could opt to shell out a separate $59.99.
The Complete Component Pack includes additional paddles, thumbsticks, and an extra D-Pad. But it is sold separately from the new Xbox controller.
How Much is the White Xbox Elite Controller Priced?
The new Elite Controller, minus all the accessories, sells for a relatively cheaper price tag of only $129.99.
It is worth mentioning that the first version of the Elite Controller Series 2 retails for $179.99. So it means that the new iteration of the wireless gaming controller slashed its price by $50.
However, if you bought the separate "Complete Component Pack," it becomes more expensive. In total, it would cost roughly $10 more.
Yet, you could now get your hands on the Elite Controller for a starting price of around $130. Plus, it looks more stylish than before.
