Madden NFL 23 Ultimate Team Upcoming Content Might Get Delayed Due to Hurricane Ian

Hurricane Ian's effect on the US can be felt even before it made landfall on the country's landmass.

Electronic Arts (EA) announced through its official Madden Ultimate Team Twitter page that the Madden NFL 23 Ultimate Team's content scheduled for release this week could be delayed due to Hurricane Ian.

Hurricane Ian is expected to make landfall in Florida as a Category 4 storm with top winds of 140 mph, per USA Today.

Madden NFL 23 Ultimate Team Content Delay Details

EA mentioned in its announcement on its official Madden Ultimate Team Twitter page that the content scheduled for Sept. 26 to Oct. 2 could get delayed due to Hurricane Ian, which is expected to make landfall in Florida as early as Wednesday.

"Content is subject to change or experience delays due to Hurricane Ian," EA said in its tweet. The announcement was then followed by a notice that updates or changes to the schedule of this week's content will be announced on the official Madden Ultimate Team Twitter page or

at the official Madden NFL Direct twitter page.

Madden NFL 23 was developed by EA Tiburon, an EA studio based in Orlando, Florida, according to a Gamespot article. As such, the studio is expects that Hurricane Ian will affect its operations in the immediate future.

EA Tiburon has a good reason to expect Ian's negative impact on its operations. The hurricane was strong enough for the state of Florida to already declare a state of emergency days before the storm even came near the US, per the Associated Press.

As a result of these preparations, Madden NFL 23 Ultimate Team players should anticipate that the new content drops for this week's AKA, Team of the Week, Gridiron Guardians, Team Diamonds, and Legends have a possibility of getting delayed.

Fortunately, EA Tiburon has yet to announce delays with the Madden NFL 23 Ultimate Team's new content for the week.

Many Madden NFL 23 Ultimate Team fans are not excited to hear the announcement, with some of them saying that EA is only making excuses since the promised content is delayed regardless, as one fan pointed out on Twitter.

Other people have voiced their outrage on Twitter over EA's announcement over delayed content and bad communication but are unaware of EA Tiburon's location.

There are also some fans that took the chance to criticize EA's bad communication with its Madden NFL community regardless of the incoming storm, with one fan saying that the company should "do the right thing for once" and address the "overwhelming rewards issue."
