The recently-launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch are now available for pre-order in India for only Rs. 2,000.
Samsung took the wraps off the hotly-anticipated Galaxy Note 3 on Sept. 4. The Galaxy Gear shared the center stage with the phablet and the smartwatch will be initially compatible only with the new Galaxy phablet. However, the Korean company also announced that the Galaxy Gear can be paired with other Samsung smartphones once a software update is rolled out to them.
Samsung is quite popular in the Indian market and the Galaxy Note 3 may appeal to many customers in the country. The Samsung India eStore is accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 3 and is also offering a combo pack for the phablet and the Galaxy Gear for Rs. 2,000 (approximately $31). Customers can pre-order either the Classic White or the Jet Black versions of the handset. Unfortunately, the Blush Pink is not currently available for pre-order but may launch in India in the near term. The Galaxy Gear is also not currently available for pre-order by itself.
Samsung announced at the phablet's press event that the smartphone will be available in more than 140 countries from Sept. 25 onwards. The company has not yet announced a release date for the latest devices in India. However, it seems highly likely that the company will officially confirm the release date of the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear at its event in India on Sept. 17.
The actual price of the phablet and the smartwatch in India also remains unknown at this point; however, the Galaxy Note 3 may retail at a price of Rs. 50,000 (approximately $789) and customers may have to splash an additional Rs. 20,000 (approximately $315) for the Galaxy Gear.
The Galaxy Note 3 may have an expensive price tag but may still attract many customers in the country. A new gadget such as the Galaxy Gear, on the other hand, may find it difficult to make a mark for itself in the price-sensitive Indian market.
