Streamer Who Broke Her Back at TwitchCon Shares Recovery Details

Adriana Chechik, a content creator and Twitch streamer, has already returned to streaming for the first time after the accident, as mentioned in Kotaku.

A clip of her was posted on Twitter, saying that she was out of breath doing basic things. She mentioned that the stitches for the surgery were inside, since she was a model. She showed her scar, and it looked like it had already been healing for months.

Chechik's Injury

Chechik found herself with a broken back this early October. This was due to a stunt she performed at TwitchCon, where she jumped in a foam pit.

Unbeknownst to her, the foam pit was too shallow to jump into. The accident resulted in a crushed tailbone as it made an impact on the floor of the pit.

This caused multiple vertebrae to fuse together, and she also sustained nerve damage to her bladder. She underwent tests in the hospital which revealed that she was actually pregnant when she sustained the injury.

Sadly, she cannot keep the baby because of the surgery she had to go through, according to Yahoo. The organizers at TwitchCon or Kairos Media, who were the agency running the booth, are still yet to release a statement about the incident.

Jake Lucky, an E-Sports news reporter, posted a video of Chechik jumping into the foam pit. Immediately after jumping, it was evident that she was already in pain. She said that she couldn't get up, as one of the people running the booth checked on her.

Chechik's Recovery

The Twitch streamer has been active on Twitter, updating her followers about her recovery. On October 12th, she tweeted that the surgery went well, which went on for five hours and 30 minutes.

She also revealed that there were more fusions, bones crushed, and nerve damage to her bladder than she anticipated. She then added that there was some bleeding around the bone.

On October 13th, Chechik mentioned that she tried sitting in physical therapy. She then expressed that she refused to do it again because of the immense pain, despite all the medication she was on.

The next day, she addressed the people who were putting the blame on her, pertaining to the stunt she did at TwitchCon. She said that she was not at fault, and that she assumed that there were proper safety precautions in place.

She narrated that she was given a sponge bath and go her hair washed. Chechik said she was thankful for her nursing staff, and that not being able to do anything was difficult. She did mention that she finally managed to sit up, but it caused her a lot of pain.

On the same day, she announced on Twitter that she was finally able to walk, along with a video of her doing so. However, she passed out when she attempted to brush her teeth and was carried back.

The streamer went to the hospital on October 15 for her second surgery, and has been recovering well since.
