The much-awaited PlayStation VR 2 finally gets a release date from Sony, as the company took PlayStation's official blog to make the announcement today.
Sony has confirmed that its next-generation virtual reality headset is coming in stores on February 22 next year for a price of $549.99, 9to5 Toys writes.
PSVR2 Pre-Orders Will Be Available Starting This Month
According to Forbes, Sony will be selling the PSVR headset's successor starting 2023, but the device will avaiable for pre-orders in the PlayStation stores starting November 15.
It will cost $50 more than the PS5 and $150 more than the original PSVR headset that launched back in 2016.
The PSVR2 selling in bundles will include the headset, the Sense controllers, and stereo headphones, 9to5 Toys reports.
This is almost a thousand dollars cheaper than its competitor Meta Quest Pro for hardcore VR fans, which is selling at $1500.
The PSVR2 will also be available with a Horizon Call of the Mountain voucher at a price of $599.99, while its Sense controller charging station can be bought at $49.99.
Using this Sense Controller charging station, players can power up through a simple click-in design without connecting to a PS5 console's USB ports.
According to PlayStation, this new headset will be out on pre-order for players in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg.
The PSVR2 will be available for pre-orders direct from the PlayStation store, and at participating retailers across these regions.

Its adjustable lenses also allow players to have 110 degrees field view through its four cameras for the headset, and a controller tracking IR camera for eye tracking on each eye.
The PSVR2 will also come with a motion sensor enabled by a six-axis motion sensing system consisting of a three-axis gyroscope and a three-axis accelerometer.
The PSVR2's immersive feature is also possible through its eye-tracking cameras that follow the player's line of sight and an inside-out tracking that reflects users' motion in-game.

Users will also be able to interact with game items and environments using the PSVR2's Sense Controller, which has a finger touch detection feature that mimics natural motions and gestures.
