Canadian carrier Rogers has now confirmed that the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the LG G2 smartphones will sport a price tag of $199.99 on a two-year contract.
LG has already announced that the G2 will be available via several carriers in Canada from Sept. 27. However, the Nokia Lumia 1020 has been confirmed only for Rogers and TELUS so far. It remains unclear at this point whether other Canadian carriers will offer the Nokia handset in the near term as well.
Recently, Rogers started taking pre-orders for both the Lumia 1020 and the LG G2 via its Rogers Reservation system but didn't confirm the pricing of the handsets. However, the carrier's website now indicates a price tag of $199.99 for both the LG G2 and the Lumia 1020 when customers sign-up for a new two-year contract with talk, text and wireless internet plan having a minimum of $60 monthly service fee.
Customers who reserve the LG G2 from Rogers will also receive a free Quick Window Cover, which normally has a retail value of $49.99. The Quick Window Cover protects your G2 and, as the name suggests, it also has a window to show your alerts, messages and time.
New Nokia Lumia 1020 customers who reserve the smartphone from Rogers can also get a free Camera Grip Case, which houses an additional 1,020mAh battery. The value of the Camera Grip Case is $74.99.
You'll have to reserve your Lumia 1020 or the LG G2 before Oct. 3 to take advantage of the free case offer from Rogers.
Both the Lumia 1020 and the LG G2 pack in high-end features and Rogers will hope to attract more customers with the release of these handsets.
Rogers currently has a big portfolio of handsets for its customers. However, the carrier has only three WP8 smartphones on offer, which include the HTC 8X, Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 920. Rogers' customers will now have another top-end WP8 handset to choose from. Meanwhile, the carrier has just one LG smartphone, the LG Optimus G, on offer. The G2 will be the second LG smartphone that will be available from Rogers.
