Come Sept. 27, customers in Canada will be able to get their hands on the recently-launched LG G2 smartphone, but Rogers' customers would have a slight edge.
Rogers is set to offer the white variant of the LG G2, which will be exclusive to the carrier. However, in order to procure the white model of the LG G2, fans would have to pick it up from GLENTEL-owned retailers.
According to a MobileSyrup report, the white version of the LG G2 will be available for purchase via WirelessWave, Tbooth, Target Mobile etc.
"The LG G2 is coming to Canada on September 27th, but Rogers customers will have an exclusive opportunity to purchase the white model. Fans of the shade will have to venture into foreign territory, however, as it will only be sold at certain GLENTEL-owned retailers, including its relationship with Target Mobile," reports MobileSyrup.
The white model of the LG G2 is expected to command the same price tag as the black version, which means that Canadian consumers will have to shell out $199 for the smartphone on a two-year contract.
Earlier in September, we reported that Rogers had begun taking pre-orders for the black variant of the LG G2, and now the white version will come into play. This, however, is not the first time Rogers will offer a specific variant of a phone exclusively. In the past, the carrier has offered the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Q10 in white as well.
The LG G2 sports a 5.2-inch True HD IPS +LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1080p resolution. The smartphone also houses a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that is clocked at 2.26GHz, Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The handset runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The new LG G2 from Rogers is slated to hit Canadian shelves on Sept. 27. Customers in the U.S. need not fret, as AT&T is also set to offer the white variant of the LG G2 from Sept. 27. The carrier took to its Twitter account to announce the plans.
"The @LGUSAMobile #LGG2 in white starting 9/27," tweeted the carrier.
