Kanye West has been suspended from Twitter again.
The famous rapper-songwriter, now legally known as Ye, had his account suspended from the microblogging platform following his posting of anti-semitic content on his account.
Elon Musk previously welcomed the rapper back into Twitter in late November after two months of being banned from the platform.
Ye Twitter Account Suspension Timeline
Ye's suspension came after one too many controversial takes. According to a Rolling Stone article, the rapper praised Adolf Hitler during an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Infowars on Dec. 1. He also shared an image of a swastika photoshopped to make it look intertwined with a Star of David along with multiple tweets after the interview.
These after-interview tweets include his praising and supporting Balenciaga following the recent backlash against the company, per The Hollywood Reporter, and condemnation of the resulting witch hunts and cancel culture. He also denounced pornography and called for its removal on Twitter and all platforms due to it being "a product of pedophilia."
For those unaware, Balenciaga is currently on the receiving end of public backlash due to its ads sexualizing children, per People.com. These ads include a picture of children holding teddy bears dressed in bondage attire.
Ye then shared two screenshots of a text conversation between him and Musk, with him asking Musk who made him the judge on Twitter after Musk said Ye went too far with his photoshopped swastika-Star of David picture.
Twitter eventually got wind of Ye's tweets and immediately deleted Ye's offensive tweets. However, the rapper, thinking he may get suspended again, tweeted a rather "unflattering" picture of Musk being hosed by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel on a yacht.
Emanuel previously called a boycott against Ye when he posted antisemitic comments that caused Adidas, Balenciaga, and other brands to cut their ties with the rapper.
It was after this time that a Twitter user petitioned Musk to "fix Kanye." However, Musk said that although he tried his best, Ye violated Twitter's rule regarding the incitement of violence. As a result, he had no choice but to suspend Ye's account again.
He also clarified in a separate tweet that he didn't suspend Ye's account due to his posting of his picture with Emanuel, adding that he found the pictures to be "helpful motivation to lose weight."
Parler-Ye Break Off
It seems Ye's appearance on Infowars also had an effect on his acquisition deal with Parlement Technologies over Parler's ownership.
A report from The Verge said that the company claims that the two parties came to a mutual agreement to terminate the deal, though it claims that it happened in November.
Ye and Parlement Technologies announced the deal in mid-October following his previous suspension from Twitter, with Parlement CEO George Farmer describing Ye as a "compatriot" in the fight for free speech. He also said that the deal would bring the social media platform into a future role in creating an "uncancelable ecosystem" where all voices are welcome.
