Rogers Moto X now for $149.99 on Best Buy Canada

If you've been eyeing Motorola's latest flagship, the Moto X, you can pick up the Rogers variant of the smartphone for $149.99 from Best Buy Canada.

The Moto X smartphone retails for $169.99 on a two-year contract if you pick it up directly from Rogers, which means that with the Best Buy deal, you save $20.

However, this is a limited period offer and Best Buy is undercutting the carrier's offer only till Oct. 3. Till this time, the Rogers variant of the Moto X will set consumers back by $149.99 on a two-year contract.

This price is currently the lowest available for the Moto X in Canada. The smartphone launched on Aug.23 as an exclusive to Rogers and sported a $189.99 price tag, which the carrier soon reduced to $169.99.

Earlier in September, barely a few weeks into its release, we reported that the Moto X saw yet another price drop with Canadian retailers Best Buy and Future Shop reducing the price of the handset to $149.99 on a two-year contract. This too was a limited period offer and lapsed on Sept. 5.

Previous reports had suggested that the Moto X could see a price drop in Q4 to $99.99 and with the frequent price cuts, the Best Buy deal seems to hint at the same in the near term.

For the uninitiated, the Motorola Moto X sports a 4.7-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it houses a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor which is clocked at 1.7GHz, as well as 2GB of RAM. The Moto X is available in 16GB/32GB on-board storage options and packs in a 10-megapixel ClearPixel primary camera. It also has a 2,200 mAh battery and comes pre-loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean running the show.

Rogers continues to retail the Moto X for $169.99 on a two-year contract. The Best Buy Moto X sale ends Oct. 3 so if you want to pick up the smartphone for $149.99, head to a store nearest you or alternately, you can pick it up online. Best Buy is offering the mid-range Moto X in both black and white color options.
