CES 2023: Sony Will Not Announce New TVs

The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is one of the most anticipated by tech enthusiasts since it shows the latest innovations by various companies. In this year's CES however, Sony will not be presenting a new awaited top-of-the-line TV.

Will Sony Launch a New TV for 2023?

Chloe Canta, a spokesperson from Sony Electronics, stated that the company will not be sharing any TV details at CES 2023, but she also mentioned watching out for an upcoming announcement that is coming soon.

Sony also express that they planned launch timing depending on many factors and that they were excited to bring new technology to customers this year. This implies that they already have something in store for 2023.

Sony may not be introducing new TVs at the CES which they are known for, but that doesn't mean they'll pull back altogether. They might just release something that tops their already impressive 2022 Bravia XR TV lineup.

The tech company usually starts shipping around spring, according to The Verge, which means they have plenty of time to announce new TV releases. They might just be focused on highlighting other Sony products like the PSVR2.

It's Not All About TVs

Sony has a lot more to offer than just their TV lineups. For instance, the company has been promoting its new product, the PSVR2, which is already set to ship out. Preorders are already open, and customers can buy them for $549.99.

The PlayStation VR2 set comes with a Sense controller and a headset. It will allow gamers to experience games in more immersive gameplay with 4K visuals. There are also unique sensations that come with the devices from the set.

Players will be able to feel the game realistically through the headset's vibrations and 3D audio technology. The gameplay is also enhanced with intelligent eye tracking, finger touch detection, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers from the Sense controller.

Known for quality screens, Sony made sure that the PSVR2 featured 2000 by 2040 OLED display which delivers 4K visuals at up to 120 fps. This indicates a huge upgrade compared to their previous PlayStation VR, as mentioned on their website.

Of course, Sony might also announce developments regarding their aim to join the market as an EV manufacturer. The company announced its partnership with Honda and its plans to design EVs back in March.

Sony Honda Mobility, which is what the partnership is called, aims to release the vehicles in 2026. Sony will be responsible for the car's mobility service platform, while Honda will be in charge of manufacturing the car in its plants, according to CNBC.

This could be a part of Honda's vision to transition all its manufactured vehicles to electric cars by 2040. Since many company giants like Apple and General Motors are jumping into the EV market, Sony was bound to join in as well.

The PlayStation manufacturers might maximize their exposure at the CES to further advertise their intentions to hold a spot in the electric vehicle industry. They might also introduce improvements or a final design for their EV, Vision-S.
